What Causes Red Spots On Legs?
It could be schamburgs. I would also like to consider other possibilities
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you you writing to us
I have gone through your query and I have also reviewed the Image.
I can see a reddish colored patch with irregular margins. I can also appreciate slightly darker hue of dots/ spots at the edges.
This could be schamburg's disease. However I would like to also keep a possibility of either tinea i.e fungal infection Or ezcematous dermatitis i.e., inflamed skin which maybe due to allergy to an environmental factor.
I would like to know whether is it itchy and do you scratch? Is it on both legs? Is it flat? Or can you feel that it is has a raised component/ bumps? The answers to these questions would help me to arrive at a diagnosis.
Schamburgs purpura usually presents without any symptoms, as brown patches with red spots giving a cayenne pepper appearance.
Schamburgs purpura presents on both sides of the body and are distributed on legs, mainly ankles and lower legs. These patches and spots are persistent and may gradually increase.

Schamburg's purpura is likely; Oral vitamin C and topical steroid cream
Detailed Answer:
Hi. Thank you for more details.
In that case, schamburg's disease is a very likely possibility. It is a harmless skin condition and is due to leaky capillaries. Cause is unknown.
You may visit a dermatologist for a confirmatory clinical diagnosis but there is no urgency and you can wait till you can get an appointment.
Diagnosis of schamburg's is obvious by clinical examination and there is no need for a laboratory test Or skin biopsy.
I suggest you to take an Oral Vitamin C supplement once daily.
Topically you may use a moderately potent topical steroid e.g either betamethasone valerate 0.1% cream Or triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% cream, twice daily.
