Question: Hello doctor im 33 years old male healthy and absolutely normal.. my concern is in the year 2003 ,2004 ,2005 few times i had protected sex and to make sure i always checked the condoms after sex by filling it with water to confirm the damage and fortunately never got damaged.
Now the thing is in the year 2008 when i was not sexually active from from last 3 years i discovered some red spots on my glans and i became very anxious.. I didn't tell to anyone rather there was a friend of mine who was a medical shop owner suggested me some ointment and said its a fungal infection.. after I applied that ointment it got worse and then i put dettol on it.. I don't how but i got cure within couple of weeks.. but after 8-9moths it again aggravated and this time started the treatment by putting dettol again again it got worse then in eventually told my family doctor and he said its just a fungal infection and gave me some liquid medicine to apply and antibiotics tabs.. and after couple of months it got cured.
( I used to have this habbit of cleaning my glans with soap Everyday and i also used to go in public urinals as i hd no other option .)

Now its been 7 years I haven't faced any problem again .. but whenever I google it the results say its a symptom of hiv . But the thing is im not carrying any symptoms related to hiv i don't even remember when i got my fever must be 6 years ago..

Now please suggest me should i be worried regarding whatever happened in past or not?

Brief Answer:
Symptoms are not specific to HIV.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
The symptoms explained by you could be due to a simple irritant balanoposthitis. Not related to HIV.
As you had protected exposures HIV is quite unlikely.
Clean your genitals with plain water. Avoid using soaps and dettol inside the foreskin. Consult your Dermatovenereologist for further confirmation and treatment. Repeated washing with clean water will help you a lot. You can upload the picture of the lesions and we could discuss more.
