What Causes Reddish Lesions On Penis?

Question: Hello doctor , i have a problem in genital area.it starts 2 months ago. One of my doctor suggest to discuss with dermatologist.

Hello doctor Problem starts before 2 months and i met urologist. He suggest me to apply one cream BETAMETHASONE and do some test. now its healed but skin not look like previuos.and i dont have any pain. I ll upload pic 1 and half week before.

I have reviewed the Image. I can see redness and erosive lesion on glans with irregular margins.

This seems very much like Genital Herpes.

Are you sexually active? Do you have single or multiple sexual partners? Or have had unprotected sexual contact(s) in the past?

I suggest you take a blood test for herpes i.e ELISA for HSV type 1 & type 2 (IgG and IgM).

After looking at the Image I strongly believe that this is genital herpes.
Genital herpes can heal by itself in about a week or ten days. However it may recur again subsequently.

Your test reports show that you were not even tested for herpes.
I suggest you to get a blood test for genital herpes as mentioned in my previous reply i.e ELISA for HSV Type 1 & 2 (IgG and IgM).

Hi.

No, it is not a dangerous diseases like HIV.
Genital herpes is an STD caused by HSV i.e herpes simplex virus. The infection is fairly common in sexually active young adults.
Herpes is characterized by genital erosions which may recur.
Treatment is with Oral antiviral like valacyclovir Or acyclovir.
I would first suggest a blood test for HSV by ELISA for a confirmatory diagnosis.

Genital Herpes can recur.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

There is treatment available. However, the infection cannot be cured permanently. The virus stays forever.
Therefore, episode of genital erosions can recur because this virus stays inside the body for life and can cause recurrent genital erosions from time to time.
However antiviral treatment for genital herpes is effective and 5 days antiviral treatment would usually heal an episode of genital erosions due to herpes virus.
