What Causes Reddish, Swollen And Tingling Toes And Fingers?

default
Posted on Wed, 18 May 2016
Question: Should I go to an emergency room? Symptoms: Red, tingling, bit swollen toes and fingers. Went to urgent care a month ago & was prescribed Famotidine & Cetirizine & Clotrimazole-Betamethasone crème. Helped symptoms for about a week but have come back. Crème stopped the itching. Not sure what to do. Tingling seems to be going up legs. Thank you, Doctor.

Brief Answer:
NO!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms that you have reported. I have reviewed this information fully and there is no reason to rush to the ER at this time. This is probably an allergy based on the symptoms and the response to the initial medications. There is no immediate red flag that warrants you to go to the ER at this time. I will rather prefer a planned and more structured visit. I will also like that you look around and see what recent new items you are using as these are the most likely cause of your allergy symptoms. They need to be identified and eliminated from you and your environment.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Above all, thanks for using our services.
