What Causes Redness And Bumps On Cheeks?
Question: hello doctor. my son is 7 months old. from last few days , his Cheek's are getting red and very very small bumps are dere. these are coming and going .is it because of winters effect or something else. please advise. i feel his skin is getting dry because of winters.

Hi XXXXXXX , I'am Dr Suresh K Yadav MD (paediatrics), I had gone through your question and understand your concerns,
It is mild atopic dermatitis which is more troublesome in winters due to dryness of skin . You are correct that skin is getting dry due to winter. Take care of hydration of skin by using emollients like Vaseline or emoderm cream, trick is to apply emollient soon after bath when skin is wet so that it get absorbed in skin and 1 or 2 more times in day.
Usage of soap is to be reduced as it causes dryness of skin. Use soaps containing syndet like tedibar.
If there any family history of allergy or eczema?
If lesions are not responding use of topical steroids can be considered after consulting your paediatrician. Most cases do respond to usage of emollients.
