What Causes Redness And Swelling In Leg After Being Scratched By A Dog?
Photo and info needed
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using HCM,
From what I am understanding from your question a dog has scratched you but its not clear if it has happened with his teeth or with foot/nails? Can you make a picture and upload in our system so I can have a look and have a thorough idea of how deep and big the wound is.
If the scratch has happened with teeth, than the situation is more complicated and you may need an antibiotic, because there are bacteria present which the body can not treat itself. That depends also on the place of the wound, if it is a puncture wound...so please let me know that information ans well.
Looking forward to your info, and I will be happy to answer.
Take care,

Apply an antibiotic cream localy
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for asking a follow-up question.
I saw your picture. The wound you have its inflamed and red because its trying to heal but doesn't look infected.
I would suggest to apply an antibiotic cream on it, 2-3 times/day, whatever you may find over the counter in local pharmacy.. The effect of it will help more to keep it moisted so it will heal faster. The black clot should fall and it will regenerate faster.
Hope this is helpful.
Take care
