What Causes Redness, Itching And Soreness In The Site After A Blood Test?

Question: I went to A&E last night and they took some blood. However this morning I find the site where they took blood has become red, sore and itchy. Can you advise me what to do.
I am concerned that there may have been an infection there. I am not usually allergic to plasters or anything. I did have a CT scan of the brain but was fine.

Brief Answer:
Apply cold compresses
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM.
Could you send photo please? You can simply upload it..
This is common after venepuncture and in most cases this is not infection, but just small hematoma under the skin due to damaged vein wall.
At this point you should just apply cold compresses and keep arm elevated.
Wish you good health.
Regards
