What Causes Redness On Head Of Penis?

Question: i noticed some redness on the head of my penis. the skin is wrinkly but when it is stretched it gets smooth. it doesn't burn or itch. no discharge or burning during urination. i've been tested for HSV2, gonorrhea, chlamydia and all were negative. i'm sexually active, but only with my fiance of 7 years. it's been on my mind for some time now and i'm not sure if i'm just looking too much into it and it's nothing or what.
Brief Answer:
May be due to irritation .
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for query.I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti answering your query.
It is good that all STDs tests done are negative.
It is not clear about duration of problem.
I could see some redness and no lesions as the photos are not focussed close .
I feel it is some irritation which is causing this.
It can be over cleaning or use of harsh soaps .
You can clean area with warm water and use gentle cleansers if needed.
See that there is no friction .You can avoid intercourse.
You can get back for any clarification with details and clear photos of any lesions or rash present.
Thank you

Thanks for the quick reply, doc. The redness has been there for quite some time. There's never been any bumps, rashes, lesions or anything of that nature. It's never been itchy or burned. I'm just constantly thinking about it because it's always on my mind and I'm stressing myself out. Could it be some sort of fungal infection? It doesn't look like anything serious does it? I'm uploading two more photos that are more focused on the penis head. Avoid intercourse for how long?

How about taking Fluconazole 100mg oral medication for fungal infection? What should the dosage be for that and should I combine with a topical cream? Also, how confident are you from the two new pictures I uploaded that it's not irritation? I don't want to take medication or further irritate the skin more by applying something I don't have too. Thanks doc.
Brief Answer:
Likely irritation or Fungal infection

Except for redness there is no lesions. It can be either irritation or fungal infection.
If partner is having white discharge then chances of fungal infection is high.Otherwise likely irritation or fungal infection.
Flucanazole can be taken 150 mg weekly once for 4 weeks after consultation with your treating doctor.
You can just clean area with warm water and gentle cleanser.

Is it possible to be a fungal infection even if my partner is not showing any symptoms or discharge? Do you think I need to see my dermatologist or are you 100% sure in your diagnosis?
Brief Answer:
Likely irritation. Consult dermatologist .
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for follow up query.
My first diagnosis will be due to irritation .
Fungal infection appears to be unlikely as there is no symptom , no partner history and morphology also does not fit into fungal infection.
You should get a consultation with your doctor or dermatologist for complete examination, investigation if needed for confirmation of diagnosis and management. As some clues can be missed.
You can get back for any clarification.
