Brief Answer:
Acute paronychia
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for the reply.
It appear to be a condition of nail bed infection, known as paronychia.
The causative organism are generally bacteria and fungi. As it is since 3 weeks, bacterial causative agent is suspected.
Redness without any discharge or swelling indicates absence of complications and an early stage of the infection.
The treatment would consist of both oral and topical applications
I suggest gentamicin+miconazole cream to be applied three times a day.
tab amoxicillin+clavunate 625 twice a day for 7 days
tab sporolac once a day for 7 days. As these are prescription drugs, you need to see a doctor for prescription.
Because the infection is deep seeded under the nailbed, an oral antibiotic course is indicated.
Avoid pedicures and moisture.
The condition should subside by 2 weeks.
welcome for further queries
Thank you.
