Question: these Splinter like things are coming out of my cuticles and my fingernails and are very painful do you know what they may be there now in my feet and my hands with a lot of redness and swelling

Hi,

I have reviewed the attached photographs. It seems to be paronychia which is inflammation of the nail folds.

I need to ask you few questions:
- Do you go for manicure and pedicure?
- Do you have the habit of frequent washing of hands and feet?

I would recommend you to take a course of oral and topical antibiotics. If I was your treating doctor, I would recommend you to take tablet Cephalexin twice daily and apply Fusidic Acid cream on the affected areas twice daily for 5-7 days.

Antibiotics are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them. Take anti-inflammatory medicines like tablet Ibuprofen for the pain and swelling.

Besides this keeps your hands and feet moisturized. avoid frequent washing of hands and feet. Avoid manicures and pedicures.

I have been 4 weeks why do I have Splinter like thorny things coming out of my cuticles and when I pull them out or with my cuticle clippers a liquid comes out and hardens extremely quickly what is that
