Brief Answer:
Anti Allergic and Antibiotics.
Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend.
Welcome to HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I have read your query in detail. I understand your concern.
Redning of eyes and discharge is commonly associated with common cold.
In such situations I advice following:
1. To take Anti Histaminic drug like Levocetrizine 5mg once a day.
2. If fever is high grade addition of antibiotic like Augmenting or Azithromycin is considered.
3. Steam inhalation at least 4 to 5 times a day.
4. In case the person has very thick and purulent discharge from eyes then i prefer to add antibiotic eye drops like Moxifloxacin.
I hope this would help you.
Ask me if you have any further query.

Is this contagious? My eyes are very red and constantly leaking. I look like the walking dead!. My dr gave me Zpack Should I not get too close to anyone?
Brief Answer:
Detail follows
Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend.
Z pack is Azithromycin, it is good for the throat infection you are having.
If you have excessive watery thick discharge from eyes, i would suggest you to see an ophthalmologist, who would examine you and see for any evidence of conjunctivitis. If conjunctivitis is there then you require to take antibiotic eye drops.
I hope this would help you.
