What Causes Reluctance To Learn New Things In A Child?

Posted on Wed, 4 Mar 2015
Question: Hi Doctor,

Thank you for being there for our quesitons.

My son is of 13 months old. I noticed that he does not show any interest when we try to talk to him. He is busy with his own world like playing. My sister has a baby of same age but he is listening and learning new things like showing some thing or do nameste when we show him temples and all.

Though my baby is active my only concern is he does not concentrate of what we are trying to teach hence he is not learning new things.

Is it something normal or do you want me to visit any doctor. Please advise.

Brief Answer:
There is no cause for concern

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day

Dear Ms

Every Child is unique and have their own development milestones. No two children are similar even the identical twins. Every Child attains their milestone at different age. It will be wrong to compare two children .

Going by description there is no cause for concern. It would be helpful if you could let the child free so that he can attain his own milestones . A routine assessment by Pediatrician during next routine visit is all that is required and will be very reassuring.

Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Wishing you and your family a very happy and healthy life.

Take care
