What Causes Remote Cerebrovascular Accident?
Question: I was diagnosed a couple months ago with cerebrovascular accident, remote and was never told what that meant. Two weeks ago ago I suffered another major stroke that nearly cost me my life. I found that condition on my doctors website for medical conditions and diagnosis. I also had one that said "other, late effect of cerebrovascular accident. I am not a doctor so I do not understand the terminology. I am sorry for typing so slow, but this last one is kicking my butt. Do you know what those two mean????
Brief Answer:
Remote stroke means history of stroke ( medically).
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
Remote cerebrovascular accident means there is a past history of stroke (ischemic/blocked brain artery, or hemorrhagic/ruptured brain artery).
Late effect of cerebrovascular accident means that second stroke is probably caused by previous stroke damages on brain and its vessels, in other words, second stroke is a conseguence of the first stroke.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
