What Causes Repeated Leg Cramps At Night Followed By A Huge Bruise?

-atenelol (high blood pressure .. norml now, but regulated by)
-lipitor (cholesterol ... normal now, but regulated by)
-calcium (weekly good dose)
-Vitamin D
-one low dose orange chewable aspirin per day
-puffer: subutimol (for emergencies of shortnes of breath due to COPD and bronchitis)
-puffer: advair (for COPD taken twice daily, morning and evening)
-puffer: spiriva (for COPD taken once daily)
The problem is that it is happening weekly and causing her to lose a lot of sleep. Do you recommend magnesium, or some other technique?
Let her get her blood calcium and magnesium levels checked!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this repeated night time cramps and all the inconveniences this must have caused her. This is often caused by electrolyte imbalances of which calcium and magnesium are the most common causes. For this reason, I will recommend that she gets her blood levels evaluated before suggesting a supplement. On another hand, you may want to do a trail treatment with magnesium to see whether it works but then we will have no prior readings to confirm if that is the lone cause.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Above all, thanks for using our services.
