Hello
Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concerns.
Retraction of penis during fear is physiological reaction of body. In simple words, it is normal during fear.
There is reduction of penile volume due to constriction of blood vessels of penis during fear and anxiety. You feel this as retraction of penis in body.
Please be assured that it's completely normal. Do not worry.
Hope this helps.
Feel free to discuss further.
Thanks.

thank you for the answer..actually i wanted to ask one more question....
4 months back i had a wound on my buttocks so i slept on my stomach for about 15 days...suddenly one day i noticed that my pennis has retracted into my body....a worried a lot and went into depression because i experienced slight pain in my scrotum...i went to doctor he examined and everything was alright...i was experiencing numbness in my head and hand...went to a psychiatrist he told that all these because of anxiety and he gave ''mirtaz 15mg" i felt good after that and now i am still taking those tablets...and i under went pilonidal sinus surgery....now my question is
1]surgery wound still there i am recovering....should i continue taking the tablet till the wound completely heals because this is my primary cause for anxiety.
2]one big relief is penile retraction ....i am not going to worry about that is it ok??
3]what is the normal duration for those tablets?
4]and how many months it ll take to recover from anxiety completely and can it come back???

Brief Answer:
Continue with the drug.
Detailed Answer:
In my opinion, you should continue with Mirtaz 15mg as prescribed by your doctor till your wound heals.
Do not worry about penile retraction. It's normal.
The duration of treatment depends on the response of the person's symptoms. It should ideally be taken atleast for three months after complete recovery from symptoms.
Yes, can return back if there are some stressors which a person founds intolerable.
You should practice relaxation exercises like deep breathing and meditation to prevent it from coming back.
Hope this answers your query.
Thanks.
