What Causes Retrograde Ejaculation While On Alfuzosin And Bethanechol?

I was warned about a small possibility of retrograde ejaculations. I had 2 wet dreams in the first 6 weeks with only a slightly reduced semen volume. However, the third ejaculation (wet dream) had severely diminished semen volume. I woke up with the ejaculation and had a quarter-sized stain (which dried and no starch marks). There was a drop of semen on the tip of the penis. I urinated straight away and although the urine volume was low, there was no obvious signs of semen.
My question is: can retrograde ejaculation develop AFTER the BNI wounds have healed? Could the medicines have caused this?
yes and yes to your question.
Detailed Answer:
Good Day and thank you for being with Healthcare Magic!
Retrograde ejaculation means that the semen would go inside the bladder rather than out the urethra on ejaculation. You would notice a diminished amount of seminal fluid when you ejaculate. Retrograde ejaculation can be confirmed by doing a post ejaculation urinalysis to confirm the presence of semen in the urine sample.
Alfusozin is known to cause retrograde ejaculation although a bit less as compared to other drugs in its class and a TUIP/TUIBN (incision of bladder neck) can also cause retrograde ejaculation in 20-40% of the time.
Yes after the healing is complete, retrograde ejaculation can develop because at this time the swelling has subsided and the prostate and bladder neck is more open. The drugs (Alfusozin) can also cause the retrograde ejaculation.
Only when your urologist tell you to stop taking Alfusozin would we know if you developed retrograde ejaculation from the TUIP/TUIBN.
