What Causes Ridges On Fingernails?

Question: I have noticed that I have developed ridges in my fingernails. I have had fairly weak nails since teens. The only thing I can think of is took a hair/nail supplement for 30 days over 2months ago. I am a 52y/o C F w/a "few" health issues (lol) I am disabled.
