The symptom of twitching of the eye is a common problem and no need to be worried about it.
The common causes for this eye problems like dryness of eye, eye strain and general causes like stress, intake of excessive caffeine containing drinks like coffee...

Since you are a software professional and spend most of the time working on computer this can be because of dryness of eyes caused by constant exposure to laptop called as computer vision syndrome.

Hence I would suggest you to use artificial tears eye drops like Refresh tears eye drops 3-4 times a day.

Along with this you need to avoid excessive intake of caffeine containing drinks and avoid stress and anxiety.

Few precautions I would like to suggest you to prevent dryness of eyes while working on computer like
1. Avoid continuous use of computer or laptop by taking frequent break in between, a break of atleast five minutes after working for 2-3 continuous hours.
2. Wash your eyes atleast twice a day with normal water.
3. Avoid/minimize concurrent use of air conditioner of fan along with computer as this may further worsen dryness.
4. Avoid exposure to smoke, dust,wind...
5. Use of antiglare coated glasses
