What Causes Ringing In Head, Dizziness Upon Exertion, Nausea And Migraine Symptoms?
Question: I have had ringing in head (not ears), dizziness which increases with exertion, nausea which increases with sustained moving around and will result in numbing of legs and arms, nausea had become prolong projectile. This is 5th day, the first and second being the worse but have curtailed activity. Can sit up and watch TV and, of course, work on computer. Neurologist said consult GP and schedule scan (last brain scan 6 yrs ago)as I had never experienced dizziness in my neurology records (15 year records with group.) GP amazed that he said get scan before seeing him) I was seeing my GP ((20 years with this GP on regular schedule) for my four-month check up, by coincidence, on first day of this illness (last Thurs) and told him as I was having migraine symptoms. Gave me shot for migraine (which was ineffective) and sent for lab work. Symptoms increased dramatically Fri and continued thru weekend but did not contact Drs until Mon am. I have had migraine entire life but no headache symptom for @ 40 year. Was thinking by weekend that perhaps it was a virus until Sun when I had kaleidoscope episode and partial loss of vision in Left eye (left eye? had always been the traditional right eye before.) Anyway, GP has me on Ondansetron 8 mg daily for nausea (which seems to be working) and Prednisone, 2 10 mg tablets twice a day to make certain its not an infection. GP believes it probably my Myasthenia Gravis which was diagnosed by Duke Univ Med lab 20 years ago but has been in decline for 10 years. As you can see I have proper continuing attention but on 6th day think an outside opinion might be comforting.
