Posted on Tue, 10 Jan 2017
Question: I'm a 49 year old woman who just experienced a sudden feeling of faintness, ears ringing, dizziness. It lasted a few seconds. Now I just feel a little dizzy and my ears feel closed up. Should I call a doctor? If not, when should I?

Brief Answer:
probably should see a doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for the question.
If this has never happened to you before then I suggest that you call your doctor and be seen as soon as possible.
If things worsen or if new symptoms develop then going to emergency or urgent care is probably a good idea.
This may be nothing serious but it is best to get it checked out if you are not completely back to normal in a few hours.
In the mean time make sure you drink plenty of water and rest.
Please let me know if you have further questions.

No I haven't experienced this before. I continue to feel light headed and a little short of breath. I've been drinking water and had a granola bar to eat.

I was thinking if I'm not back to normal in an hour or so, I would call my primary doctor to see if I should come in.

Do you think that is a good course of action?

I did take for the first time today 2 probiotic gummies. Would that explain my symptoms?

Brief Answer:
call your doctor

Detailed Answer:
I agree that you should call your doctor if you are not back to normal soon.
The probiotics should not cause these symptoms unless you are allergic to some of the contents.
