What Causes Rising Titre Of Antibodies Against Salmonella Typhi O And H Antigen?

Suspected typhoid fever
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
You have rising titre of antibodies against S.typhi O and H antigen -initial being !;60 and then !:80 which goes in favor of typhoid fever.
However serologic tests, including the classic Widal test to detect antibodies to antigen of S. typhi have lower positive predictive values than blood culture which gives the definitive diagnosis of typhoid fever.
Have you undergo blood culture also?
You can go for repeat widal test after 1 week to see any further rise but it is unlikely as it seems you are already on antibiotic which often blunts antibody response.
In your case,if other clinical features go in support of typhoid fever,it will be justified to initiate treatment for typhoid fever on the basis of widal tests.
The reason being -the sensitivity of blood culture which is only 40–80%, probably because of high rates of antibiotic use in endemic areas and the small number of S. typhi organisms typically present in the blood-hence blood culture may come negative.

I have stretch marks and it is from 8 years! How to reduce or make a no-scar effect on my stomach?
Suspected typhoid fever
Detailed Answer:
The demonstration of a four-fold rise in titre of antibodies to S. typhi suggests typhoid but is too slow to help clinical decision making( not helpful in early diagnosis) and is also not observed in all patients.
Your widal titre is unlikely to show any further rise ,if you are already on antibiotic for typhoid fever. In fact there is no requirement of repeating the test any more.
Topical application of silicone sheets can help resolve stretch or scar marks. The mechanism of action is not understood, but increased hydration of the skin, which decreases capillary activity, inflammation, hyperemia, and collagen deposition, may be involved. Consult your local doctor.

Suspected typhoid fever
Detailed Answer:
Typhoid fever is food-borne or waterborne disease.Risk factors include contaminated water or ice, flooding, food and drinks purchased from street
vendors, raw fruits and vegetables grown in fields fertilized with sewage etc.
Being in AC room has nothing to do with typhoid fever and does not increase the risk of typhoid fever any way.
