What Causes Salty Taste In Mouth When Suffering From GERD?
Remembered she has been treated for GERD too. Tried Nexium and that made her symptoms even worse. Right now occasional pantoprozole. Watching diet carefully.
She should be clinically examined and investigated
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.
After reading your post, I would advise that she should be clinically examined and investigated by a medical professional.
Since she is having GERD, salty taste can be attributed to it.
Also use of antihistamine can cause dry mouth which can lead to salty taste.
Trigeminal neuralgia can be treated by use of Carbamazepine. This is a prescription drug and should be taken under medical supervision only.
For GERD, pantoprazole 40 mg can be taken once a day along with Domperidone 30 mg before meals. Antacid in gel or liquid form is also beneficial.
Following precautions will be helpful in treating GERD :-
1. Avoid spicy and oily foods.
2. Do not remain empty stomach for long periods.
3. Avoid emotional or mental stress.
4. Avoid smoking and alcohol, if any.
5. Drink lots of water daily.
I hope this is helpful to you.
If you have any further query, I will be happy to help.
Regards. Thanks.
Thank you.
High B12 levels can be due to an underlying diseas
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your response.
High levels for Vitamin B12 can be due to an underlying disease like acute hepatitis, cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma, metastatic liver disease.
An Ultrasound or CT abdomen will help to know these conditions.
Other conditions include polycythemia vera, hypereosinophilic syndrome, some myeloproliferative disorder, kidney failure.
Following blood tests can help:-
1. Complete Blood Count(CBC).
2. General Blood Picture(GBP).
3. Kidney Function Test(KFT).
4. Liver Function Test(LFT).
You can get her clinically examined by MD(Internal Medicine).
I hope this answers your query.
Thanks.
