Question: Hi,
My daughter is of 4.5 years old. By birth, whenever she was sleeping mid portion of her scalp was getting swollen. I was thinking that it'll be recovered gradually with age and same was suggested by her pediatric doctor.
Now, recently I discovered that still now there is no improvement in that. Could you please suggest, what need to be done in this regard. I'm also scared for not being experimented by any doctor and condition would get more worse than current.

Brief Answer:
MRI brain suggested

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to this forum.
Can understand your concerns.

The swelling occurs due to same positioning of head for long time during infancy.

As the child grows, the swelling or moulding of head improves.

But if there is more moulding then after fusion of bones, the swelling remains permanent. There is no need to worry about this.

The only thing that we have to take care is to rule out brain injury. For this you should do a MRI brain. This will rule out all your doubts.

I hope this will help you.
Wishing your child good health.
Take care.

You can do the MRI brain and if it's abnormal, then only you should meet a Pediatrician.
