What Causes Scratching Sounds From Head, Migraine, Nausea And Vomiting?
Question: I have been having some strange sounds in my head which I think might be related to blood flow. When I move my head slightly I hear what I'm calling "scratching sounds" in my head. I have been light and noise sensitive as well. I do not have a headache however do suffer from migraines. When I tuck my chin into my clavicle the scratching sometimes subsides. Walking with my head down quiets these sounds. I'm concerned but don't know if I need to see my internist immediately. I have also had some nausea but no vomiting. I appreciate any assistance.

Sound in head or ear called as tinnitus may be due to high blood flow or some local ear pathology. I don't think this is related to chemical changes or a serious problem. Yet I will prefer to have a careful physical examination if symptoms persist.
Is your blood pressure normal, any history of ear discharge , hearing loss?
Sometimes migraine can present with such manifestations.
Please visit your local GP for evaluation. If needed, the doctor can refer you to a neurologist or an ENT specialist. In the meanwhile your doctor can treat you with flunarizine which will be helpful.

No blood pressure problems but I do have tinnitus but never heard these noises before. No discharge from ears and do have a small hearing loss. This could be a different type of migraine without a headache, just these sensations?
