What Causes Seed Like Particles In Stool?
I have been having stools with millions of particles - small seedlike dots....Not undigested food particles since these are all small seeds. The stool is actually nothing but these "seeds." I have had no other GI issues other than my usual minor IBS. I have had a long standing problem with poor appetite and h ave been to many MD's all of whom told me "not to worry" about it since my lab work was normal indicating no problems. I don't know if these problems are related? I have also had several stool tests for parasites all of which are normal.
Mild alterations in habits/ few medicines
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for an elucidate history.
To recapitulate: Seed-like stool without undigested food particles- minor IBS- poor appetite- visits to many MD- normal lab and stool - resolved bladder infection...
Let us start with solutions with embedded questions:
Chew the food properly- an old adage in our area- Almighty has given 32 teeth so that one has to chew the food 32 times before swallowing.
To slow down the process of passage of food through the intestinal tract- Here comes the minor ''IBS''. As you know one of the most important reasons of IBS is psychological stress which hastens the passage of food through the food passage which is almost 27 to 30 feet in length and each part has its different functions. You can ask for the tablets (chlordiazepoxide + clidinium bromide) from your Doctor/MD which needs a ''Prescription''. These are known to help solve such problems as you have indirectly.
Occasionally, the pancreatic insufficiency causes such problems- can be helped with the Pancreatic enzyme supplements. These tablets are taken ''WITH '' food during breakfast, lunch, dinner. Please try these. Get a Prescription if required in your country.
Probiotics: naturally available in curds ( made out of milk) you can take this if you are not allergic to milk and milk products. Commercially available as Capsules or sachets. The dose can be once or twice a day as per the contents.
You must have been prescribed antibiotics for bladder infection ( please give me the name). Has this altered the stools ?
Can you post the photograph of the actual stools. We have this facility- if you post a good quality photograph, I can have some idea what it is like. There is no shame on this part as this was the part of the curriculum for us. See the reports of stool has one column of consistency- color- smell -undigested food and all...
I hope all these factors may help you a lot having a normal stool. Which thing works is not important. You getting out of the problem you have is the only important factor.
Please note: You may need a prescription for a few medicines, you may have to request your local Doctor.
wishing you a great recovery, all this will eventually help you to have a great appetite.
I would be interested as I really don't want to send such pictures as an upload.
Thank you again for your interest in helping me with this concern. Also I follow a diet of no added sugar, no gluten, and take probiotics.
Try Papaya

Thanks for your feedback.
Let us forget about the photograph.
Nice to know that Cipro did not affect stools- Infection of intestines ruled out.
Weight has nothing to to do with the quantity of stool.
Stool tests done three times is sufficient to get information. Doing more than than this has no role. So please do not repeat.
Please ask the local Pharmacy about Pancreatic enzymes, I think you do not need prescription for Pancreatic enzymes.
Continue Alfalfa.
It may not be possible to have one-to-one consultation, but I am surely available on this site.
As far as diet- One should take everything and then stop all those things which do not suit you. This is by permutation and combination on a strictly personal basis. No strict rules can be followed for all. You may please try other diets also. Who knows a particular thing in diet can help you to improve.. Have you tried Papaya ? It may help.
