Brief Answer:
Do not worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to the HCM

I understand your concerns but don't worry. The reports are fine and do not need any specific medication. Infants are prone to such variations in frequency, colour and consistency of poops. The most common reason is a mild self limiting viral infection.

I would recommend you to continue regular feeds to maintain hydration. The episodes usually improve over a period of few days.

In case the frequency goes above 10 times per day and the poops become more watery and copious, then start him on racecadotril granules and probiotics such as enterogermina. Also, zinc supplement such as Syp ZnD or Zinconia will be useful.

Hopefully it will be of help. I would be happy to help you in any further questions.

Take care

Thank you for your reply. It gives me some relief.

Its been more than a week stool being tested. Mucus seems to be present in the stool till today. Is there any preventive measure to follow?

Brief Answer:
Continue regular feeds

Detailed Answer:
Hi
You need to feed your baby regularly and maintain good hygiene. Exclusive breastfeeding is in the best interest of your child till 6 months of age.

In case, he is on formula feeds and breastfeeding could not be given then ensure proper dilution and hygiene while preparing feeds. Also, sterilize the feeders well.

You may give Zinc supplement, probiotic and racecadotril as I suggested earlier in case there is any worsening. At present there is absolutely no need for medications.

Hopefully this will help.
Take care
