What Causes Severe Abdomen Pain, Dizziness, Dermaoid Cyst And Spotting?

Question: I am 32 yrs old and recently (on tues) experienced severe pain in my left lower abdomen area accompanied by dizziness, lightheadedness and claminess. I went to my doc immediately and u/s results showed a possible dermoid cyst at 2cm, no fluid in cul-de-sac. She said to see Gyn but no rush and I went right away anyway. The GYN just told me (yesterday) to come back in 6 wks for another ultrasound, but didn't do a physical exam or blood work. I don't have intense pain anymore, it's rather dull like a period cramp but I am concerned because I have been spotting and cramping slightly since the diagnosis, which has never happened before when I'm not on my period. This morning it was actually red, and my last period started 2/26... Blood flow is very little, barely touching the pad, just noticeable when I wipe... Is this normal? Could there be something else going on?
Brief Answer:
appears to be mittlesmerz
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to healthcare Magic!
It seems to be most likely a mid cycle spotting due to ovulation.
It is a natural phenomenon and is intermittently seen in normal females.
The cyst is likely an incidental finding and should be followed for any change in size after 6weeks as planned.
If you have symptoms of same severity again then get a Urine complete exam and urine for pregnancy test and get evaluated by a local gynecologist.
I hope the advise would be informative and useful for you.
Take Care!

I have experienced cramping during ovulation before but never spotting. Its starting to get a little heavier now and not just when I wipe. It almost feels like I have my period again, but a lighter version. How long does mittlesmerz last? Should I be concerned if the bleeding continues for several days and gets heavier?
Brief Answer:
usg and follow up advised
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome back.
The mittlesmerz causes spotting in some apart from pain which may last up to two days but it does not cause bleeding.
There may be abnormal bleeding due to some local pathology like endometrial hyperplasia, endometrial or cervical polyp as a cause for such bleeding.
You should get one ultrasound of the abdomen and genitourinary system and get evaluated with a physical clinical examination by a local gynecologist.
Then decide on treatment as per the cause.
I hope the advise will be helpful for you.
