Brief Answer:
Suggestive of intestinal obstruction

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Read the history about your son carefully and understood the concerns.

To answer your query: what does it mean when the nurse says that the fact that what's coming up is green isn't good >
What is coming up is green means bile is coming out of the naso-gastric tube. The bile does not normally come up in the stomach as there is a sphincter called pylorus which does not allow the intestinal contents like bile to enter into the stomach.
In view of distended abdomen, coming up bile in the naso-gastric tube indicates intestinal obstruction, secondary to trauma in this case.

Needs Clinical evaluation by a General Surgeon, CT scan to confirm the cause and further actions as may be needed, may be surgical exploration.

I hope this answers your query.
