Question: Hi dr,
My 3 year old daughter was having little bloated abdomen and used to pee after consuming food average 4-5 times a day from past 4 months. Her stool was blackish and used to come out with gas. Finally I took her to a paed who gave her a deworming medicine and some anti bacterial medication for 5 days. He also gave her satrogyl o. After this treatment she was fine. But today again I observed that after having meals she is passing stools and her abdomen is also slightly bloated. She has peed 4 times already today. Stool dare yellowish green...coming out with gas. She suddenly feels the urge to pee. She has been eating only home made food and is not at all fond of any junk food. I am extremely worried. She weighs only 13 kgs. Earlier she had bad breathe inspite of brushing twice a day but today she has no bad breath. Please explain me what can be her illness? Also please note she has been eating one XXXXXXX and one banana a day from last 4 days apart from regular meals. I am extremely worried about her health.

Brief Answer:
Try giving a gluten free diet

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on Health care magic.

I have carefully gone through the query and understand your concern. The bloating could be due to bacterial degradation of undigested food matter in the intestines. It is possible that she has problems with digestion of gluten or lactose. Try restricting all wheat related food items for at least a couple of weeks and see if it helps. Also eliminate milk. Curd or yogurt can be given.

Greenish stools can be due to rapid transit through the intestines and the bile pigments do not get enough time to get converted to the yellow color of stool. I would not be concerned about it.

I would not draw an association between the urge to pee and the bowel problems. However, if apprehensive you need to get her urine tested for routine microscopy and culture sensitivity.

No worries about the XXXXXXX and banana.

Regards
