Question: I have a iud. Have had it for a year now. I've only had intercourse once since I had it. I had some pain behind it. I had my obgyn to check the iud and this was in october . He said it was still in place. I still have some abdominal pain at times. Could the iud be right for me or not? I have an upcoming appt. Next week. My fear is epto pic pregnancy. Which I read is common with the iud

I have been on the pills before are there any other options. Are the pills a good option. Ihave not had any kids and I'm 45 now. I mainly wanted to have back up birth control.I had asked about the XXXXXXX but my obgyn recommended the merina because of the 5 years.
