Question: Hello my dad has type 2 diabetes and doctor prescribed below medicines Hifnac 100 mg Bet avert 16 Gravel Astor asp 75 Cared ace am 2.5 He has also high bp But due to these medicines he is feeling pain in right lower abdomen Please help pain is severe and doc is not available till 10 am IST Sugar results fasting 230 mg/dl Sugar result random 460 mg/dl

I went through the details. In the back ground of very high blood sugars, this right lower abdominal pain seems concerning. I am glad he is visit his doctor immediately.

If the pain is severe, I feel antispasmodic drug like dicyclomine will ease the pain. For better results, I suggest he visits a nearby hospital/clinic and take this as injections.

With the above drug he should monitor his blood sugar. Get checked for ketone bodies when you visit doctor and he may require insulin for management.

So in summary for now ask him to take plenty of fluids with dicyclomine and other drugs.

Right abdomen pain was due to kidney stone and currenlty he is not able to walk due low blood supply yest his sugar was 197 and now he is under medical observation. Can he able to walk if blood is circulated normally?

Yes. If the blood circulation improves then he can walk again. His sugar and lipid levels should be monitored regularly.

In such conditions for my paients, along with drugs to maintain sugar levels I advice antiplatelet drug like aspirin and hypolipedic drug like statins and I advice the same for your father.

Lower abdominal pain due to stones cause spasmodic pain. Along with antispasmodic drug ask him to drink plenty of water. An ultrasound abdomen and pelvis to know the size and site of stone should be done and he requires doppler scanning to know the site of obstruction to blood supply. These will help in management.
Since he is in medical observation all these necessary investigations will be done and will be treated accordingly.
