What Causes Severe Abdominal Pain Along With Diarrhea?

Question: Have been having really sharp abdominal pains which I would compare to pregnancy contractions even though I am not pregnant. This has been going on for 3 days now. The pains come on really fast and hit first right by my belly button and as they intensify spread out under my rib cage and off to my sides. No fever, but have the diarrhea. Is this some kind of crazy intestinal thing I got going on or what? No vomiting or nausea. Have an appetite. Thoughts?
Brief Answer:
Please consult gastrologist.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Considering your young age (no risk of bowels cancer) and the sudden onset of the pain, intestine invagination is the most probable reason. This condition is caused when the intestine kind of gets inside its own wall. This gives sudden pain along with bloating. When the pain is gone, diarrhea appears giving the relief. You may notice some king of mucus or blood in the stool after such episode. It may come and go.
I suggest you to consult gastrologist and have some basic tests. Abdominal ultrasound is the first test you should have. Gastroscopy (to rule out celiac disease) seems necessary as well.
Hope this helps.
Regards.
