What Causes Severe Abdominal Pain, Diarrhea And Pain In The Ribs?

default
Posted on Thu, 7 Jul 2016
Question: I have been experiencing intense intestinal pain(stomach) and sometimes it is so acute, I am awakened in the night. I also have pain below my rib cage and have had trouble breathing ... I also feel as if I have something in my throat - like something coming up in my throat and I swallow water to keep it down. I also have had an unexplained rash. I also have diarrhea and strange looking stool.

I went to the ER last night and they did a CBC panel which they said was normal and they took a chest X-ray that they also said was normal.

I just feel that I have a parasite inside me that is moving around and will travel to my brain and heart and I am very worried. The doctor said they need a stool sample and need 9 days to culture . I am just worried that this is such a long time and that the parasites will travel to my brain and heart and be devastating.
Please advise me!

Brief Answer:
investigation is required

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

the symptoms are a little strange and I believe that psychological stress should play some part in them. You have many symptoms and there is no obvious diagnosis related to them. Investigation is required. Will you please upload the reports of them tests you've done so far? It will help a lot.

Important tests to consider include the following:
complete blood count, c-reactive protein (quantitative measurement), urea, creatinine, electrolytes, liver function tests, albumin, globulins, stool culture, microscopic examination of the stool for white blood cells, red blood cells, ova and parasites.

If the aforementioned tests fail to provide any useful clue then upper gastrointestinal endoscopy can be considered.

Don't worry about parasites which walk around. There are indeed some parasites which may invade various organs but the symptoms are more pronounced with fever, chest x-ray findings, etc.

Kind Regards!
