What Causes Severe Abdominal Pain, Gastric And Peptic Ulcer?

Question: Hello a month ago, I was having constipation and I did 4-5 days of salt water flush. I was evacuating liquid but I still felt that is something that is still not passed and I had severe abdominal pain, then my doctor told to take Pan-d,I took it for few days, the pain was lessened but I am having abdominal gas build up and I am not able to pass gas since ast few weeks, and it is very uncomfortable as I feel I have a lot of gas build in my stomach and I am not able to pass it. My doctor told that am having acute peptic ulcer. I have tried few home remedies for gas build up but not much help. I tried peppermint tea, ginger raw,buttermilk etc. What could be the issue?

Also due to this my appetite has decreased a lot, and my bowels are okay now but I still feel I do not evacuate completely.

Hello! Thanks for putting your query in HCM. I am a Gastroenterologist.
I understood your concern. It's difficult to determine the cause, but perhaps your doctor is right. I will suggest the following for better results.

1. Avoid food that increase gas like beans, pulses, cabbage, peas
2. Avid food that increase acid productions like tea, coffee, citrus and spicy and fatty food
3. See if milk make your symptoms worse then please avoid it
4. Take capsule containing simethicone
5. Continue with Pan d. Also take tablet famotidine 40mg od after dinner, This is a prescription medicines. The combination of these two will help in controlling pain in a better way.
