Brief Answer:
Nip care, silicone nipples. To rule out infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for your query today.
I'm Dr. Shuba Hariprasad and will be answering your query.

Would you please clarify a few things for me?
-are these blisters present on both nipples?
-how is the flow of milk?
-how often does she feed the baby?
-Have you consulted her doctor? Did they say it looked like an infection?
-are the blisters sore or raw or oozing? Is there any redness to it? Any pus?

I recommend :
-an OBGYN consult
-nip care ointment (lanolin) application. After every feed, wash nipples with warm water, XXXXXXX dry and apply ointment. It doesn't need to be washed off before feeding. Just wipe a little with wet cloth. It is harmless to baby
-if they are, or bleeding, silicone nipples are available is speciality stores which caters to breastfeeding mothers. Make sure she gets the right size. The store people will help you.
She should put this while feeding and remove it afterward.
-avoid tight clothing. Air the nipples as much as possible and wear cotton clothes.
-another option is breast pump till the blisters heal.

I urge you to take her to be seen by her doctor to rule out an infection.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Wish you all good health.
Regards,
Dr. Shuba Hariprasad

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for the follow up.

If there is pus, that means there is a bacterial infection

I recommend :
- T- bact ointment for local application. this has to be washed off before every breastfeed with mild soap and water and patted dry.
after applying ointment ,should remain on nipple for atleast one hour. time feeds accordingly. this should be applied twice a day.
wash breast after every feed and clean baby's mouth with clean gauze afterward.

- apply nipcare ointment after every feed to soothe it.

- avoid other cosmetics ( creams, powders,perfumes)

- consider silicone nipples if the above don't work in 3-5 days. improvement will be slow as baby continues to feed.

if any redness, pain occurs or sores worsen, or if she has a fever, swelling of breast, arms ,see a gynaecologist right away.

hope this helps.
please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with
