I do not know additional information i can give. The cramping is painful and seems to happen at random times: while asleep, sitting at a desk, while driving.
Brief Answer:
As detailed below.
Detailed Answer:
Such cramping at random times as you have mentioned like while asleep, sitting at desk, while driving can be due to one or a combination of the following factors:
- Electrolyte imbalance.
- Post-viral myalgia.
- Tenosynovitis.
- Dehydration - but is ruled out in your case as you are taking 3-4 liters of water per day.
- Physical exertion.
- Fibromyalgia.
- Stress and/or anxiety.
A proper clinical evaluation, examination and investigations can help you to get a proper diagnosis and hence a proper management.
I hope this specifically answers your question regarding the causes for your symptoms.
Regards
