What Causes Severe Diarrhea In Adults?

incomplete colonoscopy and possible reasons
Detailed Answer:
Hi!
Welcome to health care magic!
I am Dr. Saddiq Ul Abidin. I have read your problem in detail and will try to help you in best way possible.
It is a tricky question. I would say that if you are having diarrhoea and no acute signs of obstruction of bowel or constipation than it can't be that emergent. Just keep an eye on blood, electrolytes or fluid loss with your labs and symptoms. If you feel dehydrated, lethargic or short of breath consult health care facility immediately.
Now coming to your fears. There can be multiple reasons for colonoscopy been not able to be completed. Improper preparation with laxatives, inadequate emptying of colon, highly curved or tortous colon, risk of perforation or some mass or growth coming in front. If that was the case I am sure your gastroentrologist must have taken specimen from colon for histopathology, the report you have mentioned to be awaited.
Meanwhile Cat scan will be done and will be helpful in suggesting something. So keep your fingers crossed for that one. I have already told you emergency symptoms, just include the signs of obstruction like extreme tenderness or stiffness on abdomen, or propologed constipation too. In both extremes get to medical facility. Otherwise follow the schedule as been planned by your gastroentrologist.
Hope this has answered your query, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. kindly rate me generously before closing, and leave your feedback if possible.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ul abidin.

And pain in my lower back. I woke up today with no diarea. I had a bowel movement that was normal but the bowel was thin and had no pressure or pain. What could mean
bleeding per rectum
Detailed Answer:
Hi! The symptoms you have shared, can be due to strain or as a sequelae of colonoscopy. The thin streak of stool can be due to stool coming through, looping around some obstruction. You should avoid constipation and too much diarrhea. In both of such occurences you would need to be reviewed by your GP. If bleeding doesn't stop I would recommend a visit to your GP, for urgent Complete blood count to look for haemoglobin level. A per rectal examination will also be needed. After getting treatment for your current issues, you can continue rest of the work up with cat scan and report of histopathology.
