What Causes Severe Dizziness Post A Concussion?

Question: I got a concussion from a ski wreck 3 weeks ago. Feel ok now, but when I lay back I get dizzy/lightheaded for 5 seconds or so, then it passes. Also happens when I tilt my head back. Have you seen/heard of this before? Is there anything I can do to help this?

Postconcussive symptoms may be present for a few days to few weeks, so, if you feeling better, these short lasting symptoms should disappear gradually.

There is no specific treatment about these concussion related symptoms,you should try to avoid head tilts.

Thank you. How long should I let this dizzy/lightheaded feeling I get when I lay on my back go on before I should be concerned. Concussion happened about three weeks ago now.

I think you can wait for a week or two, normally these symptoms should stop.

If these symptoms persist for more than two weeks, or any other neurological symptoms appear, get evaluated by your primary care Doctor.
