What Causes Severe Fatigue And BP While Treating Survical Spondalities And Slipped Disc?

Regular health check ups with control on health issues & healthy life style
Detailed Answer:
HI Dibeshprasadito,
Thank you for your query under healthcare magic platform. I understand your concern.
* It's good that you are doing well with regular exercises for your cervical spinal/ disc problem. The sudden weakness seems to be due to-
- osteoporosis secondary to age,
- muscle weakness because of muscle wasting ( less use/ less nutrition & reduced hormones, reduced work )
- Your hb% seems to be a bit on lower side..
- Diabetes causes silent harm by affecting vital organs/ diabetic neuropathy makes muscles weak / Blood pressure & heart are other side effects of diabetes.
- The degenerative changes might have affected other parts of spine.. causing impaired nerve supply to muscles of other body .. leading to further muscle weakness.
* All these factors make recovery from weakness slow in advancing age.
*In this context, I would suggest a full health check up through your family physician including-
- Blood counts for serum calcium, vitamin D,/ typing of anemia/a complete diabetic profile ( though the sugar values are controlled... the disease can affect health ),/ Complete cardio vascular check up / a review by your spinel orthopedic consultant.
_ as per the results , concerned specialist to be consulted for specific management
- Supplementation with calcium, vitamin D, iron to be done with specific advise of the consultant. Anabolic steroid injection (like Decadurabolin) taken at regular interval helps.
- An active life with moderate exercise . sound sleep & mind concentration exercises( meditation ) along with positive mentality plays a great role in healthy aging & early recovery from weakness.
I hope, the answer was informative & useful to you. Any follow up query is welcome.
Thanks.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXX,
- Thanks for the followup query,& thereby informing about reports of your recent cardiac checkup. Your blood pressure/ blood sugar being controlled.. . It's good that you are getting these thing in between. In fact in old age & specially a diabetic patient needs to get periodical ( at least yearly ) check up of his diabetic profile/ heart check up/ kidney function test & detailed examination of eyes( as these are the organs commonly attacked by diabetes.. in long run )
- Thanks for informing me your specific problems.. so that I can give you more specific information in order to control them to the best. Let's see them one by one-
1)Back pain/ neck pain-- In order to summarize causes of back pain & means of control in your case we have to think of-
-It can be Osteoporosis.. more commonly seen in sixties.
You have normal level of calcium level in blood, but other factor which control bone density include-
- Vitamin D . It's synthesized in our skin after exposure to sunlight./ It can be taken in oral/ injectable form. It's blood level can be estimated along with serum calcium... & supplemented as per need.
- Degenerative changes in vertebral spine / disc problems .. is possible in your case.. as you have cervical spinal problem.
- Another possible cause in lumber back.. is some kidney problem. You don't seem to have any kidney/ urinary problem.. but it's better to exclude it
...specially due to your habit of not drinking enough water/ you being diabetic.
Actually drinking 10-12 glasses of water in 24 hours is supposed to be essential for good kidney function.I would suggest to form a habit to drink it as much as possible, to protect your kidneys ( though it may not seem to essential for the moment. )
_ another possible cause is arthritis of pelvic joints/ hip joint.
* For these you need- Consultation of an Orthopedic surgeon. He will advise for-
- Blood check up for arthritis/ vitamin D,
_ X ray/ MRI/ CT scan of spine & pelvis
Management would be anti inflammatory drugs (NSAID)/ hot or cold packs, rest while there is acute pain.
Maintenance will be by physiotherapy/ pain medicine as per need/ surgery is needed in some cases.
2. Frozen shoulder.. *The management in more painful stage is again- hot or cold packs/ local anti inflammatory gels ( Duoflam )/NSAID drugs orally / intra articular steroid injection when pain is +++
When there is no relief with these, Manipulation ( stretching ) under anesthetsia or orthroscopic surgery is needed.
* Maintenance is by -- gentle stretching exercises/ physical therapy& pain medicines as per need.
Prevention is by avoiding excessive stress to the shoulder.
3. Weakness-It In old age weakness is mainly due to-Less eating( less appetite/ less digestion ),osteoporosis, muscle weakness ( wasting, neurological cause.. impaired nerve supply )Psychological, low thyroid hormone.
- Less eating.. Impaired digestion due to aging cause digestion problems. To over come this
- Have multiple small feeds.. every 3 hourly feeds rather than two full meals in a day. ( containing food that is smooth, cooked well, containing milk, vegetables, fruits, salads and limited carbohydrates.) Dietary fibers are very important for good digestion & bowel movements,
- Drink sufficient water. have regular moderate walking exercise .
- add digestive enzymes if needful.
Neurological cause.. mostly due to diabetes/ spinal problem
-sufficient rest ( 8 hours of sound sleep ( use Yoganidra audio CD )
- Meditation & concentration exercises help a lot by controlling psychological stress.
I hope, the information given has helped you. Any follow up query is welcome.
In case you feel the answer to be good, please grade it before you close the query.
Thanks.
