Hello
Thanks for your query.
It is quite difficult to say that you are getting back tuberculosis. But as you have treated with anti-tubercular drugs (ATDs) for 1 year and thereafter there was improvement in your part in the form of weight gain and symptomatic improvement, in all probability your treatment was a successful one at that time. This episode may be due to a secondary bacterial infection for which you are rightly given by your doctor a short course of antibiotics in the form of levofloxacin. Temperature not crossing 99 degree is not fever. If even after this 5 days course of antibiotics there is no improvement of symptoms rather having weight loss, loss of appetite and appearance of fever then only you need to have again a work up for tuberculosis in the form of sputum for acid-fast bacilli (AFB), chest x-ray and CT guided FNAC from the aspirate of lymphnode, making AFB smear and culture.
You will be able to work while on second line anti-tuberculosis drugs quite well. Don't worry for that.
Second line treatment is not at all difficult if you like the first time treatment remain very compliant with the drugs and do have regular follow up to your doctors.
Drug wise side effects may vary. But common side effects are nausea, vomiting, rash, heptitis, kidney disorders, peripheral neuropathy, arthralgia and rarely some neurological disorders. But right now you should not worry for that because very few patients actually develop these adverse effects and effective management protocol is there to manage these side effects.
Surely you will recover from tuberculosis if you successfully complete the treatment and remain adherent to the drugs.

Hi
Thanks for writing back.
Severe body pain and lack of energy may be because of your feeling down. Don't be depressed so much. You better take proteinaceous diet as you are having right now and have a thought that nothing wrong is there with you. You don't have symptoms of TB which I have earlier mentioned. Do get back your normal daily activities. You will only be worried if you have significant weight loss or loss of appetite or fever more than at least 100 degree F. Loosing only 1 kg weight is never significant. If 10% weight loss is there in 6 months then only you should be worried. Again 1 kg difference may be due ti inter-machine variation. You please get back to your daily activity soon, interact with friends and near and dear ones and continue to take proteinaceous diet and vitamins and fruits. You may have escitalopram-clonazepam tablet before bed time and look for few more days. We are always here to help you. You can contact us whenever you want.
Get well soon. God bless you.
