Hi,
Thank you for posting your query in Healthcaremagic.com.
This is Dr. Swarnava Dattagupta answering your query.

I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
You have mentioned to be diagnosed with esophagitis. Well, the problem has probably not resolved and you are suffering from chronic indigestion now. The loss of appetite and fatigue have followed one after another eventually. Basically, due to the disease process, your appetite has reduced, leading to decreased nutrition and loss of energy and fatigue.
Keep patience and follow as advised-

Diet should be the main priority. Have healthy small frequent meals which is good for both digestion and nutrition. Avoid rich, spicy food, alcohol, smoking if any and take lots of oral fluid and dietary fibers.
Continue omeprazole for esophagitis.
Take a course of antibiotics with ofloxacin-ornidazole.
Take probiotics like lactobacillus and multivitamin-multimineral combination for about a month.
Exercise regularly. Brisk walking, cycling, swimming are sufficient. It enhances metabolism.
Also, get a complete blood count, ESR, CRP, Lipid profile, Liver function test, Blood sugar and electrolytes done.
Monitor blood pressure regularly.

I believe it should be helpful. Also, if there is any problem, it should be detected by the tests and management can be done accordingly.
You can consult your treating or family doctor about the above and get these prescribed.

Hope I have answered your question.
If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Regards.

I had sickness and diarrheoa for two weeks. All blood work came back ok apart from very low vitamin d and ferritin levels were low. I was admitted to hospital for a day and put on a drip and was told it was possibly a virus.
My fatigue is so bad that I just feel drowsy. I have gone from not sleeping to sleeping all the time. The past few days I have not been able to do much as I have very little energy. My doc says it possibly is post viral syndrome. I am not so sure.

Brief Answer:
It might be post viral syndrome

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Yes, your doctor might be right about it- it can be post viral syndrome i.e. symptoms that occurs after a viral illness.
The fatigue and malaise may be associated with low vitD levels too. Take vitD supplements as well as iron supplements and get a repeat blood test after 2 months.
Follow as advised above. Your energy will return and fatigue will resolve in due time.

Follow up with the reports if possible.
Wish you speedy recovery.
Regards.
