Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I have taken note of your query and I have understood it.
I suggest a possibility of Telogen effluvium as the reason behind this increased hair shedding.
Telogen is the resting phase of hair growth cycle.
After any stressful event e.g medical illness like typhoid, dengue, jaundice etc scalp hair gets shifted from growth phase (known as anagen) to resting phase (known as telogen).
Once hair enters telogen it is going to be subsequently shed over the next 1-3 months which is manifested as increased shedding.
Telogen effluvium usually starts 1-3 months after the stressful event and can last up to 3-6 months following which the hair follicle re-enters the growing phase.
Therefore the hair fall that you notice after typhoid is expected.
I suggest you to take a healthy, wholesome, nutritious diet.
In addition to that you may add an oral Biotin supplement once daily and an oral Iron supplement once daily.
Minoxidil is a hair growth promoter. Topically you may use a minoxidil 2% solution, twice daily at scalp skin.
These together would aid in faster recovery.
These are prescription products and therefore I suggest that you talk to a dermatologist in your vicinity for the needful
