Question: Hi I have been itching really a lot for about three weeks..I was in myrtle beach and had a lot of sun..when I first get the sun, I itch but will go away after a few days. This has lingered longer then that. I have a mark in the cress of my leg and stomach..It is about 2 inches long and about 1 inch high..a real deep purple..I had been itching there a lot and I was wondering if I broke a blood vessel to cause that. Plus my husband also was itching but Drs. said it was dry skin...could this be scabies?

Brief Answer:
Clinical photograph required

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Dear Ms

Going by description of symptoms its likely to be swimmer's itch, exact diagnosis will however depend on clinical examination.

It would be very helpful to arrive at diagnose if you could get back to me with the clinical photograph.
In the meantime local application of Calamine lotion and antihistamine like Cetirizine will provide symptomatic relief from itching.

Awaiting your response

Take Care
