What Causes Severe Joint Pain In Little Finger Of Left Hand?
The main pain is in the pinky joint in the palm of the hand.
Guyon canal syndrome, Cervical spondylosis, arthritis
Detailed Answer:
Hi there.
Thanks for the query.
Do you have any tingling or numbness sensation?
Does the pain radiate from the back of the neck or wrist?
Any chest pain or shortness of breath?
It is possible that a nerve is being compressed either in the wrist or the spine at the back of the neck and this causes the radiating pain. Sometimes there would be associated tingling or numbness.
This pain can also be caused by heart trouble in the form of Angina pectoris where the pain can radiate from the jaw to the pinky. There would also be chest pain and shortness of breath.
It is best to get an ECG/EKG to rule out any heart trouble especially if you have chest pain or shortness of breath.
Apply hot packs to the wrist or the back of the neck, wherever the pain is radiating from. Avoid doing any repetitive activity with the hands, lifting weights, overhead activities.
You can take Tablet Diclofenac and Thicolchicoside combination twice a day for 5 days after meals and Tablet Ranitidine 150mg twice a day for 5 days before meals. If there is tingling or numbness, take Tablet Pregabalin 75mg at night for a month.
Get an Xray of the wrist with ultrasound of the wrist to rule out Guyon canal syndrome. Also nerve conduction study of the ulnar nerve can be done to look for nerve damage from compression.
I hope I have answered your query.
I will be available to answer your follow up queries.
