What Causes Severe Left Lower Abdominal Pain When Diagnosed With Hernia?

I've had 4 ultra sounds (testicle, abdomen wall, spleen, stomach)- what was revealed on the spleen was a small cyst (nothing to worry about) and the abdominal image revealed a hernia (but could not be felt my family doctor). I have had persistent abdominal pain for past 8 weeks and now starting to get some penile burning sensation?? Just need to know what it is, I need to get better. My blood and urine are all okay.
Prostate infection
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns
you have had 8 weeks of left lower abdominal pain without identifiable cause. Your imaging studies have all been normal. This week you have notice burning on urination. This all maybe related to a prostate infection. This type of infection would not be seen on any imaging studies and missed on physical exam. I would recommend that you mention this to your doctor and see about getting started on oral antibiotics. You will need to be on antibiotics for 4-6 weeks to control the infection. Prostate infections last a long time.
The other possibility is diverticulitis. This is an infection in the lower intestines from out pockets in the sigmoid colon. These pockets can get infected and also cause significant pain. Ultra sound tests would not identify these out-pockets. You would need a Barium Enema or a CT scan to see diverticulitis. The treatment here is also long term antibiotics.
In summary
1. Prostate infection
2. Diverticulitis
3. treat with oral antibiotics
