What Causes Severe Left Lower Quadrant Pain?
Question: I have a 2 hour sudden onset of severe left lower quadrant pain. No fever, vomitting but +++nausea.pain is colicky 9/10 and I'd a bit better after Ultram 100mg and 2 Tylenol#3 and laying on right side, knees to chest.(now 7/10'except when colick pain returns 2-3 times/hour.
PSH: DM,Htn, Cholecystectomy 1999 during Roux En Y gastric bypass, diagnosed in July with 2.8 mm renal calculus in right kidney. No pain prior to tonight. It is pretty bad. Last BM today (normal no blood) Nomfrequency dys urea, vaginal bleeding or discharge.not sexually active.

Colicky pain in left lower quadrant of the abdomen could be due to Left sided Ureteric stone. As the stone tries to pass into the Urinary bladder,colicky pain arises.
Ultrasound abdomen will give a clue.If kidney is enlarged without visualisation of stone,CT Scan should be done to confirm the size and location of stone.
Continue the medicine that you are using now.
