What Causes Severe Left-sided Burning Sensation In Hip?

default
Posted on Wed, 12 Aug 2015
Question: I woke up this morning with a very bad burning sensation on my skin on my left side just above the hip. This happened about 2 am and now it is 8 am and if I press on it it burns a little bit. The skin is pink where the burning was. The funny part is my husband had the same thing the night before. He woke up with a bad burning sensation also but his is on his stomach and is more spread than mine. What do you think it could be? I had shingles twice in my lifetime and there is no blisters on my skin.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for posting on HCM.
I can understand your concern regarding the skin lesions but its difficult to point specific diagnosis in absence of clinical examination. Considering the history it seems you might be having insect bite reaction but its not possible to point definitive diagnosis in absence of examination.
Therefore, I insist you to post good clinical pictures to me so that I can help you in a better way and guide you the proper management.
