What Causes Severe Lower Abdominal Pain After Hysterectomy?
Surgery is needed.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The symptoms that you are having are likely to be related to adhesions. The adhesions inside the abdominal cavity are recurrent. Even if you got all the adhesions removed in 99, these have recurred again. These can further progress to form strictures to cause an acute pain like you are having.
The main treatment of such strictures is surgery to remove the adhesions but it is a difficult surgery and recurrence can happen. Right now you can have some anti inflammatory pain killers for symptomatic relief. Do wait for your appointment and get a surgery scheduled for proper relief and to improve your quality of life.

He said that would be fine, but don't expect much.
I need a doctor who is going to take me seriously and help me with my problem. I am going to the bathroom many times because of the bowel pressure on that side of my abdomen. I have been very constipated- very painful, so I am taking laxatives which in turn are painful from the cramping but at least relieving the pressure from that left side. I have PPO insurance so I don't need a referral to see a specialist. How do I go about seeing a specialist with out them being predjudiced from my doctors opinion already? Is there anyone you can suggest I see in the St. XXXXXXX area?
Can be due to hemorrhoids.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The pain due to constipation can be related to hemorrhoids.
You can sit in hot sitz bath by sitting in a shallow bucket with hot water three times a day. The heat would help in relieving the discomfort and pain of the hemorrhoids.
Application of local anesthetic gels and vaso constrictors like Preparation H are also useful. It is available over the counter.
Taking too many laxatives will aggravate the pain due to strictures. You can use a suppository instead to pass the stool painlessly.
Do consult a pain specialist to manage the constant pain. You will have to search for one in St XXXXXXX are yourself as I am not familiar with your area.
Hope my answer is helpful.
