What Causes Severe Menstrual Cramps After Taking I-pill?

Question: My Girlfriend took the ipill once in Nov 29th which was followed by normal periods on the Dec 10th. And now again took the pills on 30th Dec which has caused early periods on 7th XXXXXXX but with sever pain. Is there cause for concern?
