Many causes are there

Hi XXXXXXX

Thanks for writing to me .

Sorry for the late reply.

There are many causes for mood swings. Most common for your mother age is post menapousal syndrome. This is due to lack of oestrogen. But usually it is more just after menapouse and don't increase.

Since it is increasing in your mother the cause like lack of sleep and stress or any steroid medication needs to be tackled. If these are not there then you need to consult a psychiatrist to diagnose depression or mood disorder. Even variation in thyroid hormone can cause this.

So I suggest you to find out common causes like sleep problem and stress or worry first and then consult the doctor.

If only sleep problem or stress is there can be managed by scheduling sleep cycle and reducing stress with meditation.

Hope I have answered your query. If any further queries are there I would love to help.
